As you may already know, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has some performance issues, and with that, many mods claim to offer fixes.
Ultimate Engine Tweaks is one such mod, supposedly improving performance and latency while reducing stuttering, all without impacting visuals.

Review

So does this mod live up to its claims? From my testing, the answer is unfortunately no, not exactly. While it does improve performance, you’re unlikely to see the drastic changes mentioned in many of the pinned comments. However, there’s no harm in trying it, as it’s incredibly easy to add and remove.

Claims

Performance

In terms of performance, these tweaks resulted in an overall 13% improvement. While the 0.1% lows didn’t change much, other metrics saw a boost of 7–11 FPS, which helps smooth out the experience.

Testing Methodology

To measure the mod’s impact, I traveled a short distance across the province. I created a save at the starting location and reloaded it for each run. After loading, I waited for performance to normalize, as the game needed to reload assets each time. This process was repeated three times with and without the mod.

Test Path

Hardware

  • GPU: RTX 3080 Ti
  • CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3D
  • RAM: 64GB @ 3600 MHz

Conclusion

While this mod doesn’t seem as effective as some comments claim, it does provide a measurable performance improvement. That said, results may vary depending on your setup, it’s possible that lower-end systems may benefit more noticeably.

What do you think? Have you tried these tweaks yourself? Did you notice any difference in performance?
